According to an article published on MSNBC, the economy has lost almost a million jobs since the recession officially ended in 2001. Last month the economy lost 93000 jobs, the seventh consecutive month of job loss of almost 100000 jobs.
One economist believes the survey is incorrect because the government generally surveys large firms and under covers smaller firms where more job growth tends to be. Another economist believes that that one is wrong.
