In the new issue of Forbes Magazine (September 29 edition), there is a story there about EDS planning to hire 13800 workers (10% of its global workforce) in India, Malaysia, Hungary and Mexico by the end of 2004 and that they plan on laying off 2750 workers in the US and Europe.
They also report thatengineering, programming and accounting jobs are leaving the US for low cost areas at a rate of 4000 jobs a week according to Forrester Research. Combined, the US, Europe and Japan are losing 600000 jobs a year according to McKinsey.
